One of the biggest names in Valencian fashion has left us this week, Mr. Alejandro Vidal Soldevila, died on Tuesday, he received a warm and intimate farewell of their families and friends.

The flame of one of the most brilliant Spanish designers was extinguished. He was a member of the school of creators as Pedro Rodriguez, Manuel Pertegaz or Berhanyer Elio.
 
In his youth he learnt from the knowledge of his mother, a dressmaker, who died when he was 18 years old, and then he studied Fine Arts and showed his experimentation and his love for the female form in his designs. He declared himself as admirer of the Dior ´´New Look´´ movement, the haute couture of Paris and, more specifically, of Coco Chanel.

In the late 50´s and from his studio in the Paz Street, after his return from Argentine territory, where he spent some years, the party was the topic of his designs and he dressed the bourgeoisie from Valencia and Spain at that time.    

He loved the color, the long dresses, the cleavage adapted to the personality of each client, the details ... he uses to like giving it up, as an accomplice of the woman. He advocated of quality fabrics and practice for dressing, he avoided of the "add-ons attached which might impair the goal of being safe in a night." In his words, "a party dress is like a dream, that day you´re another woman."

He was enormously creative by nature, among his keys to good dress highlighted: "not under the command of color that leads to every woman´s legs look relentlessly before deciding the length of her dress in her closet and there is always a dress ´´black. And above all, adds:´´something to be avoided at all costs is to get the young woman ...-and the humor that characterized him, he stressed, let alone compete with his own daughter.´´

One of his sons, Alex Vidal, followed in his footsteps and urged him to create his own firm, "Alex Fashion", later christened "Alex Vidal ´, thus prolonging the tradition that drew him and his parents, who continued with his son and now his grandson.
