COLLECTION PAPALLONA

"The simple flapping of a butterfly can be felt in the other part of the world ". This old Chinese proverb thinks about the importance of our acts and about the power they can manage to exercise over the rest the world. In this allegory, the butterfly represents this being which is able of changing everything.

The collection is an honoring to that butterfly, to what it represents. It advances around the vital cycle of this wonderful being, going through each of the stages of the metamorphosis. The young caterpillar, after hatching, is vulnerable and sheds its skin several times in order to grow. Later, the caterpillar remains immobile while, held to a selected stem, its skin breaks and it is surrounded becoming by this way a strong chrysalis. The caterpillar will wait there to turn into a precious butterfly.

When it is ready, it gradually emerges from a weak rind and starts to show its beautiful shapes and colors as butterfly, starting to strengthen its light wings. The butterfly, ready to fly, will go leaving back its former skin looking for new landscapes to explore. In its maturity, it will leave the eggs after the bundle of a leaf from which, again, precious beings as her will reappear again.

The collection represents these phases in the life of a butterfly. First, the garments will have earthy tonalities, with small appliques emulating to the own nature. Fabrics with volume like the one the organza of natural silk provides and the faille. Superimpositions, pleats and scallops will be present in this first phase. In the second one, the garments become more vaporous and with more movement, with fabrics like gauze and satin of natural silk. There will be gathers, precious stones appliques and scales in leather, introducing small touches of color and textures as those that appear in the wings of a butterfly.
